Developer Resources
This is a compendium of resources available to University Web content developers. These tools are provided to assist official WVU units in deploying effective, consistent Web sites.
WVU OIT hosts the servers that University Relations uses for websites. University Relations-Web offers web site design, consultation, official guidelines, and other services. See our Services page for more information.
Professional Technologist Designers
Most of the colleges employ Professional Technologists who are designers and web developers who work in a consulting model with University Relations-Web. These designers are located in most colleges and several departments. These individuals work with the Communication Directors and follow a protocol for design approval. This group meets on the third Wednesday of each month with University Relations-Web for discussions and training on various design and web issues. If you need more information about this, please contact University Relations-Web at web_services@mail.wvu.edu
Design Guidelines
For information related to design, official colors, and suggested elements see our design guidelines.

Hosting
Several hosting options are currently available:
The WVU public Web site at http://www.wvu.edu/ houses University and unit Web pages that are of interest to the general public. This content frequently includes information for prospective and current students, recruitment materials, and other service level information. Inquiries for further information should be directed to University Relations-Web, web_services@mail.wvu.edu.
Most University web sites are now housed in Slate, the content management system offered by University Relations-Web. For more info on this solution, go to Slate CMS.
A few sites are still hosted on the webservers outside of the content management system. If you have questions around this option, please contact us.
More information on student organization Web sites is available from Student Organization Services. All new student web sites are hosted in Slate.
The WVU Intranet Web site at http://intranet.wvu.edu/ houses departmental pages that are specifically relevant only to internal University operations. This content includes departmental forms, databases, procedures, and other business level information. The intranet is viewable on the campus network and if off campus, employees and students should log on with their masterid.
